I cannot be the only one with silly household mishaps which, in an exploring context, wouldn't be a problem at all. Chances are they simply wouldn't arise in the first place.

In a less than brilliant display of explorer skills I triggered the house alarm which rang solidly at MAXIMUUUM POWAAAAAAAR for 30 minutes until the backup battery ran flat. No amount of swearing, searching for the manual or brazen button mashing achieved any measurable results. To compound the situation, siren for said alarm system is upstairs in the kitchen of the Vietnamese family. Some kind of fucking explorer I am...

Miscellaneous housebound adventures aside, further out into BC we explored some illometer breaking stuff. Hydroelectric from 1911 and crazy ghostships. Team Leader donned his three pointed hat and eyepatch to show us teens hows it's done. Captain Harlock would be impressed to say the least. To shame my earlier house efforts these exploring related alarms, not a problem at all. I can't handle my house alarm but given a (nearly) century old powerstation and it's on for young and/or old.

If you liked this try...

After dark the city is ours.
From secret tunnels to rancid sewers, subways, bridges and space relics, if it's adventure you want you'll find it here. The city is our playground, the city as you've never seen it before.
