Probably storage areas for rations, ammo., stuff like that. Mondern day bunkers are not much different. Of course, all secret to where they lead, except to the soldiers. That way, hostiles could not find the tunnel "out" if they managed to get in.

i'm a full on enthusiest on bunkers & all that sortta stuff, wheather it be old war bunkers or just things like this aswell as tunnels in & around suburbs. if there's anyone who can give me any idea of where 2 start that'd be great
