Hello dsankt
I am a rock climber and am interested in exploring this place......
Is it near Brisbane????
Cheers
There isn't really much climbable there that I saw, but you'll know better than me. Follow the trail from behind the Mt Gravatt scout hall and keep your eyes open - it's a bit concealed. We found it by spotting the orange tape around the holes in the roof.
Hello dsankt I tried to find this cave today but couldn't see any orange tape. How far from the scout hall would it be? Is it on the right or left of the track? Cheers.
Cool...fellow rock climber! By the way...great photos. I love this stuff. Rock on.
Thankfully I can stop crawling through this patch of bush looking for this now... would have been interesting to see how it formed.
nightgoat, what happened to it?
As you have figured, I found it so I can stop looking, all in tact from what I saw.
thats cool im going to go find this right now this site is awsome beter than cave clan :-)
that cave was worth the walk took a while to find but was happy when i found the holes in the roof glad the red tape was there (fall SPLAT !!!)
I wasn't very optomistic about finding this place; first attempt was 2 hours walking around in the middle of the day. Common sense prevailed and I made a second attempt in the early morning and bingo, found it with relative ease. A little on the tricky side but this place would also look nice with a bit of night-time loving.
I set my clumsy feet on every stone on the south side of the mountain trying to find the cave, until I did my research properly, and found the offical tourist map with the cave marked :)
Star trails through the celing holes, mr_magoo?
Soon as I saw it I knew where it was... must be 25 years since I've been there. Thanks for bringing back fond memories.
Thanks for the rough guide to where it is, very helpful. Prior to seeing this all I found was what it said on wikipedia which was something along the lines of, "large cave complex on southern slope" which really isn't very helpful.
And actually, you can't even see this cave or the orange tape from the track that goes from the scout hall straight up to the viewing platform, it's a bit off the beaten track.
